Before Avatone
Second year of my IT and design degree, a message landed in our programme’s public Discord. Parsa, my now-boss, needed a designer and couldn’t pay. I was the only one to respond. I needed portfolio pieces. He needed help. A fair trade.
That’s how RepShare started.
The idea
The pitch was simple: going to the gym with your friends instead of going to the gym and texting your friends. Most fitness apps punish you for falling off track. We wanted something where your mates pulled you back in. “Hey man, let’s go. You’d better not flake.”
We worked on it off and on between classes. Login, home, chat, calendar, profile. The profile screen still holds up.
What became of it
RepShare never launched under that name, but it didn’t die either. It shifted focus, picked up gamification and an actual attitude, and grew into what Avatone is today. RepShare was the idea. Avatone is the real one.
Glad I answered that Discord message.
